Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to play WallRush. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA across the website.

What we do

  • Every colour pair used for text, buttons and form fields was checked against the WCAG AA contrast ratios (text 4.5:1 or more, form-field borders 3:1 or more). We have not tested every combination in every board theme.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Images and icons have text alternatives; the rules are written out in full under each animation.
  • Animations respect your device’s “reduce motion” setting.
  • Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on small screens in portrait.
  • Forms have labels and clear error messages.

Known limitations

  • The game board is visual. You can play it with a mouse, by touch, or from the keyboard: the squares you can move to can be reached with Tab, and pressing W starts placing a wall. We haven’t tested the board with screen readers, so playing with one may be difficult.
